HA first, great review and this is one of my all time fav movies. Rather ashamed that I've missed some of this stuff, the overalls ref was fucking hilarious. Once again two thumbs up and keep em coming ^_^

This is one of my favorite movies. It was fun and exciting. I am glad to watch this review that I ran into. The issue with the older people forgetting stuff from the 20th century; that can be explained. It's like, I remember a time when I was a kid when there was no Internet and yet I had to remind myself that there was no public Internet in the 80s and stuff like that. People forget trends as time goes on. Either way, good review. Have you watched Spoony's review of The Demolition Man game?

By the by, the name Lenina Huxley is quite possibly a mix of Aldous Huxley (writer of Brave New World) and Lenina Crowe (a character from said book), which was about a utopia gone horribly wrong.It's why I like this film so much, it's on the surface dumb (which isn't to say that its bad of course) action but otherwise has a lot of background details that elevate it.Superb review also, keep it up!

Solid review, love your work. I have a clarification though, rather than "Political Correctness" being the theme that dominated the rules and customs of San Angeles, I would say it's more accurately described as "The Nanny State." The Nanny State is where anything that could possibly be dangerous is banned or outlawed, no unhealthy food, no dangerous sports, media isn't censored just because it's subversive (as in 1984) but youngsters aren't allowed to play violent video games because that will most certainly cause them to mimic the action simulated, etc, etc. Political Correctness is often a part of the Nanny State as no-one is allowed to say anything that could possibly offend any other group but the Nanny State seemed to be the over-arching theme of the style of oppression, which was a refreshing break from 1984 and/or BNW type totalitarianism.

Actually the "Verbal Morality Statute" detector did mess up two additional times.
1. When Simon Phoenix is hacking the public terminal and says "Damn, I'm possessed." Now I can probably give that one a pass due to "damn" being one of the lighter swear words, but then again Lenina got a 1/2 credit "Sotto Voce Violation" for calling Earle a "sanctimonious asshole."
2. When John Spartan finds out in the car that he's a seamstress and yells out "I come out of the freezer and I'm now Betsy Fucking Ross?"
